Very fun game overall with great gameplay, visuals, and audio. Even though I managed to beat the game, I will definitely be revisiting it to try some other power-up combinations!

How long was your dev time?
I went pass the 3 hours unfortunately, I ending up working on it for maybe about 15 hours.

Thank you for playing and enjoying the game !
I think you might be the first one in the Jam comment's to actually beat the boss so far, congrats !
After this GameJam I'm looking at a rework of the Final Boss at some point so look forward to that ^^
If you have any additional feedback I'll be glad to hear.
This is very, very impressive. I can tell that you put in a lot of extra time, which is the only negative thing I can think to say about this game and the only reason why I didn't give you full marks. It feels very polished. The controls are tight, the art is good, and the music is enjoyable and subtle. I especially love the slowly scrolling parallax backgrounds and the shattering effects on enemy death.
You did amazingly well. Try in the future to limit yourself closer to the 3-hour mark by picking an idea that's feasible in the time-frame and focusing on the most important features first, allowing other aspects of the project to be 'wants' instead of 'needs.'
I'm really curious to hear what your game jam experience was like. I hope you had an enjoyable time making this beautiful little gem of a game.
thank you for the kind words !
This is my first "3 hour" Jam and yeah I overshot for sure. I thought that by planning it well I could at least get somewhat of a demo since this was originally a 3 person job.
Wasn’t even close. Unfortunately one of them had overlapping plans and the other had decided to take the time off before class started again. Since I had time off I decided to just finish the game as intended.
unfortunately this might be the last time I do a 3 hour attempt for awhile until I can scale down my concepts at a comfortable level.
I've found that the best way to learn how to pick small enough ideas for a game jam is to just keep doing jams. It doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't even have to be complete or playable! The important part is to try, to gain experience, and to learn how you work and where you tend to stray off into the weeds. I'd really encourage you to keep trying! What you've done so far is great!
Again thank you for your kind words,
Loved that you enjoyed the game.
I will probably do these types of jams again but I definitely need more experience in a tense environment like Jams first. This is my third GameJam and all of them have been equally hard, the first Jam I did I still haven't touched unity yet. I'm simply more used to a more lax schedule. I will keep doing Jams in the future don't worry, it's simply that 3 hour ones might be too soon for me atm. ^^
