Renalia Sunset Town: This seaside town feels so peaceful and I love the idea of an ocean sunset. Having grown up on the west coast of the US, I feel that ocean sunsets are one of the most beautiful things I can think of! Your musical intuition is spot on if, as you described below, you made what sounded good to you. I think that the stepwise motion of your bass works well in adding the simplicity and tranquility of your seaside imagery. I think that your ocean wave SFX was also very well-implemented as it enhanced the piece without any distraction.
Did I imagine the town?: I sure did! The peacefulness of the song brought to mind a small town on the beachfront where people take things slowly and just love living life in the present. Good work and thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the kind words. I had a lot of fun doing this. I hope to see in you future music Jams!
I agree with you. I'm also impressed people had time to put together more than one song. I tried to do a second but could get it to where I wanted and didn't want to force it.
Thank you for the kind words.
It surprises me that, so far, I have heard pretty much no bad song this entire jam! We got some great composers in here, and you can call yourself one of them! It was delightfully calming. The ocean-wave-sound really tied it all together. Well done!
Very nice. It sounds like a video game of the 16 bits era :)
You made a very interesting choice regarding harmony. You put an F on an E minor chord (a 9th minor) which is considered the most dissonant interval. This color tints the city with an unspoken turmoil. While the music is peaceful with the sound of waves in the background, I image a tormented city by the sea.
Here, I like it a lot.
I was going for a SNES feel, I'm glad that came through in the music. I have to be honest though, my knowledge in music theory is minimal. I'm usually just matching whatever I hear in my head and tweaking as it goes into the program. I'm learning as I go, both the music and the ins and outs of the DAW.
I'm glad you like it.
Thank you!
