Usage of DOTS/ECS in this project
Use ECS for as much of the project as possible including Physics, character controle, combat simulation.

Did not have time to use job except for the physics triggers.

Audio, Animation, UI, Input and Scene management remained in GO through the hybrid approach, mostly directed by Systems instead of monobehaviour.

It's clear this was quite ambitious! And although there are some things missing, it still had a quite a lot! I enjoyed playing :)

I just wanted to say I'm a fan of your work, and your Youtube  channel is a resource I reference regularly when learning DOTS. It was pretty cool that you livestreamed your development and to be able to see your process towards making games. I look forward to seeing more content from you in the future! Cheers!

Developer

I clearly overscoped the project given the time I had to work on it.

I could not :

- make the last scene

-implement the food drop logic

-implement ressources based combat skills (they just have time based cooldown)

-implement a death/revive mechanic for the character

-add interactive dialog

Also, lesson learned from the next JAM, stick with a LTS version of Unity and the package version you are used to.

Happy I took the opportunity to discover new tools (Polybrush) and made my first step into the streaming world.

you can watch the full dev of ths JAM entry on my channel :
