How did you incorporate the prompts?
My idea was to do a platformer with a touch of roguelike elements where you would catalogue different plants before exterminating them.

How do you feel about the game you made?
I don't know why I decided to do this right after GMTK lol... I feel a bit tired out and didn't put enough time into it to finish the game. It's playable, but not really anything more than a basic basic prototype.

What can we improve for the next jam?
Not much

A game design idea:

  • Plants of different colors. Every color is a plant usage type: weapon, XP, potions etc.
  • You need consumable items to deal with plants, collect them and learn their effects.
  • So, you are limited with consumables and have to choose which plant to examine

Another idea:

Why do you need plants? Maybe you are an alchemist, or mage, or pharmaceut. And you have a shop. And to craft goods and learn new stuff, you need to explore the Dangerous Caves of Unmercy Doom. I mean, game can be much better if we really care about all this herbs. If they are not just obstacles, but desirable items.

At the moment, the game has nothing but nice style.

I liked the style of sticking to only 3 colors, as well as the intro lore blurb in the beginning. I would continue working on the project if you feel it has potential!
