The visual presentation is strong, and the card art has a distinct, eerie charm that fits the theme. But from a gameplay standpoint, the balance needs serious rework.

The shop RNG dominates decision-making. Low-cost cards are too good, simply because they’re the only reliable plays. High-cost cards are dead weight most of the time, and drawing a hand full of 4s and 5s early just kills the run. A shuffle or re-roll mechanic would help a lot.

AI behavior also feels off. It consistently fills the board with optimal plays, which makes me wonder if it’s bypassing cost restrictions or just always draws better. Either way, it leaves no room for counterplay.

Lack of feedback during card placement and no clear info on enemy card stats adds to the confusion. That would be tolerable in a full-featured game, but here it just strips agency from the player.

A short tutoral or rules breakdown; on the itch page if not in-game would go a long way. Right now, the game assumes a lot and explains very little.

There’s potential here, especially in the aesthetic and core concept. But it needs more structure, better balancing, and some basic affordances to reduce frustration.

To be faire, I don't quite understand the gameplay, I don't even know if it's a bug or not that I was able to stack three cards. A tutorial would have been really nice, even just a few lines on the game hompage in cas you ran out of time ^^'

The base is really great. I'm impressed you manage to go that far in the visual aspect of the game. Love the cat eyes.

On the gameplay i have some reserves. What i figured is that it's often better to just buy 1 cost cards because i ended with brick hands sometimes with only 3-4-5 costs cards again their 3 1.

A tuto or explaination would be great as well

Keep up the good work

I'm a sucker for a card game, so its difficult not to like it. I also understand the complexity that card games bring so for 4 days of work, this was pretty nice, I'd love to see this game improve so heres some feedbacl:

  • Currently the game is way too rng based, game strategy requires a good shop, and most of the time the shop is bad
  • High mana cards are pointless because youll probably die if your deck has many of them in
  • Keepers are probably the strongest card just because from round 1-3, its all you can play, and it gives good board dominance
  • It seems like the ai cheats a bit and plays high cost cards for less, but also it always makes an optimal play, i rarely see it not fill the board with keepers and then follow up with strong cards
  • Card placement is not too intuitive , primarily because theres no feedback for it
  • Shop could use a shuffle button, i ended both my last runs with nearly +100 because high cost cards are bad to buy and would make me lose even harder
  • The lack of audio is very unfortunate, even some music and ambience would do well
  • Having no information of enemy cards is not so great, i recognise the card art but dont know the health or damage, taking away some strategy
  • It would be great to have an explanation  of how the game works on your itch page, i still dont fully understand the importance of placements, except that cards fight in matching lanes.

I hope this doesnt come across as rude, im just trying to give some good critical feedback, its a great starting point for a game!
