I absolutely enjoyed this experience! The story is very engaging and I hope your team are planning on polishing this even further!
50 cents:
Like the previous comment, there aren't a lot of voice lines that I could hear.
The sprites sometimes overlap the dialogue box for some reason
I also ran into a crash while trying to play a game with the woman (see attached)
Thank you for posting the error code. We got it repaired in the latest update on the live page. Unfortunately this did pass by us before submission >.<
The background art was crisp. This has a lot of potential!
I know it's a jam game and the scope knife is merciless. I wasn't sure if the choice of colors versus all black and white scenes was because of the jam or a curatorial decision. The font and font color was very hard to read, especially the quick menu at the bottom. And same with the voice acting. It felt like lines were missing rather than certain select lines were voiced. Music would go a long way! Consider adding SFX to compliment your camera pan outs and flashes of red.
choice of colors was intentional and in some aspects were originally designed to play a part in the storytelling. We had a lot of trouble with finding a font that would fit for sure. Wasnt able to even get the voice acting in all the way, but post todays update I would say 90% of the VO is in and fully functional, some are still glitching out which is unfortunate and requires a deeper dive. Adding SFX is deff something i'm making a note of as I agree, SFX would really help make things pop! Thank you so much for the thoughts and suggestions. This was my first jam and hearing that it has a lot of potential makes me very excited :)
This VN was truly good! Good job! If you stick to the color choices, consider using a bright color font to stand in high contrast against the background colors.
