A haunting experience. As the timer counted down I found myself trying to click through faster and faster, trying to read as quickly as possible. It was an interesting experience having this very slice of life story with the dread building up. I did find a bit of the dialog, specifically around Mo and Arhan to be a bit repetitive, which was slightly frustrating with the timer counting down; however, generally I thought the story was strong. The ending was evocative.

This work was haunting. The contrast between the slow, slice-of-life segments from Bariqa's POV as she navigates her family, friends and future, and the ominous counting down of the clock in the bottom-right corner is really effective at creating a sense of dread and sadness throughout this VN.

SPOILER BELOW

I think the part that struck me the most was when the timer hit zero, and then the screen went completely white. When the list of casualty names appeared, I was reminded of the scene in Chainsaw Man when the Gun Devil began to make its attacks. It's one thing to talk about mass death in numbers, but it's another to see those names line up against each other. Names that belong to people with their own internal worlds and desires. People who've had their futures ripped away from them because of things outside of their control.

Thank you for making this work. I really hope more people can experience it.

Thanks for playing! Huge fan of MalViolence.

The gun devil scene was definitely an inspiration for the ending sequence. We're all big Tatsuki Fujimoto enthusiasts.

Wah, thank you so much! I'm happy to hear you like my work too.

But yes, the ending really was shocking... I'm gonna be thinking about it a lot in the future. :(
