Kinda against the point no?

ai is useful, specially for solo devs

No doubt useful for some, though also ethically dubious. But what I mean more is that the page reads "You. Alone. No team. No help. Just your skills and your ideas.".

Using large language models and images to generate assets trained on other people's work without permission does not sound like "No help, just your skills and ideas" to me.

then don't participate and go elsewhere, 98% of jams prohibit the use of AI, so go there

Not helpful nor answers my question. The fact that the gamejam focused on using only your own skills to make a game is one of the few to do allow AI only makes it stranger, imho.

Most people are using game engines which using ai isnt too helpful. It is mainly as added to help brainstorm ideas and help you when you get stuck. The only time AI is very helpful if you are making the game without a game engine and coding the entire thing.

i do agree that it is a bit strange to allow AI in a solo jam, but atleast for now AI cant do everything for you, you still have to put in 90% of the effort. So i dont think its that big of a deal
