I enjoy these types of tactical games and you done a grand job.  I thought the visuals were decent but the audio for me really was a as it did feel like an 80s army infiltration track.  I don't think it really fits too well with the theme of web.

This is the first jam for which I've made the audio, too, so I'm glad you like it. As for the theme—it's no spider or internet, but the idea of *webbed feet* did a lot to inform the game's design, being able to dive and having a two-leveled playing field. Ah well. Thank you for playing anyway!

super creative take on the theme, hell yaaaaaaa. It took me a minute (or five) to figure out that I could dive and actually fight back but experimenting with movement and combat felt great. Some sort of tutorial or instruction might've helped; having all of the buttons (very creatively) listed was a great idea.

Thanks! I wanted to go with something really *out there* for the theme, hahaha. Having all the controls listed on-screen by default was my time-crunch compromise vs a tutorial. I was hoping it'd be enough to list all the options, but perhaps not, hah. Thanks for playing, glad you figured it out!

Liked the sense of humour in this one! :D
Cool and very playable, artwork is well suited to the game and subtle audio fits well.
Webbed-feet was a nice take on the theme too!
Very much a roguelike and I loved the 'retro' mode with scanlines, nice touch :)

Thanks so much! Once I had a great time writing everything—once I hit on *webbed feet*, it all snowballed from there! Glad you had a good time with it.

Really like how the game felt like a more traditional roguelike. The combat felt really good, and being able to change levels was really cool. Nice Job!

I'm glad you enjoyed the Dive mechanic, that was in my mind the centerpiece mechanic that I wanted to showcase, so I'm glad it seems to have worked out. Thanks for the kind words and for playing!

The way that you can dive between the layers to get around enemies is super satisfying. It makes combat in this game surprisingly tactical as you always want the first hit. Well done. The combat log is pretty good at nudging you along in the right direction.

That cutscene is glorious, by the way.

Developer

That was my goal, to encourage diving in and out of the water to manage encounters! Glad it seems to have worked out like that, and glad you enjoyed the cutscene! Thanks for playing!

Honestly.....i didnt know what to do. first few minutes were spent just trying to understand the controls. Didnt undertand the point of foraging (I didnt see what collecting stuff did). Just all around was very confused on what i was meant to do. Though i do appreciate that you spent some time on the Menu and Intro. Got me interested right from the start.

The controls should all be listed by default on the screen, and Foraging results should show up in the combat log. Did they not? Thanks for checking the game out regardless.
