Really neat world! I included your creation in my PROCJAM 2020 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look! :)

love the art, animation, sound and gameplay though I would like to adjust my mouse sensitivity, the only thing missing is a sick background music, along side with more content like a new tentacle that deals no damage but holds you in place or one that toss stuff at you, also the esc does not for me though so I have to use the window key to exit
Thanks for the kind words! The Escape key was a typo; the quit button is actually F5. Whoops!
Mouse sensitivity was something I wanted to add but sadly ran out of time.
I like those alien ideas! I'll definitely consider them if I return to this project (which I'd very much like to do after I finish my current project, Dungeon Deathball).
I played your entry on stream if you wanna check out the video below! The design here is so solid, really love the color palette, the animations and the sounds. For being such a simple game and really nailing a feel, it kept me playing a lot longer than I think I would have had not the game looked and performed in this style. I did get turned around a few times, and think maybe there could be something in place to make directions clearer, but that coulda just been me too. Check out my entry if you get a chance!
Thanks for cheking out my game! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Yeah there's definitely more I could do to aid navigation. Some of the minimap functionality got squeezed in at the 11th hour.
In your video you asked whether the purple floater enemies move randomly. The answer is: kind of. They bounce off walls like a never-ending pong ball. For this game I wanted to see how much I could do without any navigation/pathfinding for enemies, so they have that simple movement and then the tentacles just move towards you once you wake them up.
I've bookmarked your game and I'll play it if I find time. 😄 Thanks again!
hey thanks for answering that, it would have taken me a minute to realize that's how they were behaving! I think that's a really great solution to pathfinding stuff. I'm building a big game (big for me alone) that has a lot of pathfinding and I've been trying to think of creative solutions just like the one you came up with. Thanks for the inspiration 👍
