Simple but surprisingly addictive! I liked that the crank was needed to get started but gradually became irrelevant, because that would have been tedious to have to keep cranking. I also liked that the prices increased the more you bought, which meant that I had to continually evaluate which tier was most cost-effective and kept the lower tiers relevant.
I played it till the game crashed! Ended up with 2.10mw/s at the end of it, these idle games like these are so addicting! I think adding a crank-less option would be nice as I believe having to play this for a while cranking it would be tiresome though I am not sure if there is a multiplier for cranking it. Lastly, I think some simple sound effects would go nicely with this! Anyways nice work!
Tried playing in the Simulator (that autocrank comes handy :D) and like the clean interface — it took me a second to get it (I didn’t notice the tile selection shadow at first), but then it was nice.
I didn’t get past that first screen (is there another?) but I‘d like to imagine what are the next steps after getting through the first few stages (a la Universal Paperclips).
Awesome game!! Spent way longer than expected playing it - the first few minutes I thought I was going to be very bored. Then, the idle game mechanics kicked in and I quickly realised I was going to keep my playdate running for at least 30 minutes on this game. Very successful. Would love to see more graphics and game complexity.
The game cannot be sideloaded onto the playdate, since: The bundleID field is missing from pdxinfo.
I don`t have the actual device so no way for me to test, but thanks for letting me know!
Played it on the simulator instead. Creative interpretation of the theme given! The game fits it very well.
Would have loved an end goal, or a reason to keep playing after having bought some dyson.
Generally a few more features added and some music would have made this perfect :D
I can already imagine a version of this where different electricity sources give the same amount of energy, but take longer to build or are more expensive or riskier. You as the player also managing values like social standing and sustainability. This definitely has some potential for a full clicker/idle game.
I have this same issue on my playdate.
