  • The game has great vibes and music was great. Mostly the game was fluid except for the movement, which felt delayed at times especially when dashing. The music is very upbeat and feels like a classic 8-bit game from the GBC era. the animations where fluid and punchy. The Art looked good but the consistency of the style and theme didn't match. The GDD is lite missing key visual aids and roadmaps of development. Overall a solid game that just needs a little more time in the oven before becoming instant classic!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes!

Summarise your game!
It's breakout with a twist! You're a baker with amazing agility and a trusty frying pan that you can whip out- and the ball paddle!

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
"You are the weapon" made me think about that old breakout game that was on Game Boy where it was Mario piloting a ship as a weapon. I was also inspired by Antonball where the paddle is replaced by a platformer character. This is my take on that concept but with a top down gameplay.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I'm curious to know how the level design resonates with the players. Does it still feel like you're just playing regular breakout? Let me know!

This game is really cute and the vibes are immaculate. Such a clever take on brickbreak! Really loved it. The levels were interestingly designed and loved the moving platforms and having to navigate it while going after the ball. The SFX and Music are excellent and fit the game well! My only gripe is for whatever reason the movement keys WASD have a very noticeable delay and felt unresponsive which is really weird because the dash was instant. So probably a little bug to look into there.

Other than that fantastic job! Well done.

This game was really cute ! I liked the graphics and music, and the game idea felt really intuitive! like Of course there should be a game like this, and I think that's really cool all in and of itself! my only thing is the angles felt hard to predict, and sometimes felt inconsistent. like one time the ball got set into play moving into the hole and I just lost right away. Are there any more than two levels? I couldn't ever get the game to get past that point. Regardless I'd love to see more! :D old classics being set up with new ideas and influences is always fun!

I love breakout games. This was a fun take on one, and I like the art style. I can definitely see Game Boy Color influence. The movement is a little sticky, but I got the hang of it after a bit.
