- This was a pretty fun submission and frustrating! I played it so many times trying to get revenge. And the number of times I was try to hurry up the arrow and then flying it immediately to the ground haha. Flying the arrow really was fun. I felt the pressure every time I hit a barrel and when the alarm was sounding. Only recommendation I have is to have an options menu. Even though I did enjoy the music, the volume was just a little loud. Overall, this was a really fun submission. Would love to play it more if you decide to develop it further. I hope to see you in future jams!

yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yep
Summarise your game!
“Straight and Arrow” is an arcade style shooter where the player directly controls the arrows of an archer beset by hordes of enemies.
Arrows are shot automatically. Left and right arrow keys control the arrow- you can kill three enemies before needing to fire another arrow. Power ups can slow you down, speed you up, or release a multishot. Hitting a barrel stops your arrow immediately and you need to wait to shoot another.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
We took the theme literally- player controls the arrow while it's in flight, rather than an archer taking aim.

THE OVER-THE-TOP GUITAR AND ACTION PACKED INTO A SILLY LITTLE GAME WHERE YOU PILOT AN ARROW GIVES AN ABSURDLY TURBO-RIFFIC ATMORSPHERE TO ENJOY. THE CORE LOOP OF PILOTING THE ARROW IS QUITE FUN-- IF YOU WERE TO ITERATE ON THIS, I'D RECOMMEND WORKING WITH THE RESPAWN TIME AS I FOUND THE TIME BETWEEN DEATH AND LIFE TO FEEL LIKE IT INTERRUPTED MY LOOP OF BEING A FUN ARROW, FLYING THROUGH ROBOTS
The music is absolutely great (Although a bit loud). The gameplay itself also fits the theme pretty well and it was fun playing it.👍
Thank you for playing! Sorry about the volume, weirdly the web version was significantly louder and noisier than the non-web build.
