  • this was a fun one. I would maybe turn up the difficulty a notch and fewer enemies. maybe this would do well as a boss rush type of game?

Midnight Path is a bullet hell roguelike game where the objective is to stay in the shadows and use alchemy to defeat enemies after obtaining their philosopher's stone.

WASD/Arrow - Move

Mouse - Aim

Left Click - Use Alchemy while next to an object, after collecting the philosophers stone to shoot as projectile

Shift - Dash

E - Interact while standing on the upgrade you want to pick

Tips: Pick up debris left behind by wooden projectiles to conjure up boxes (3 debris = 1 box)

Collect the philosopher's stone, defeat enemies using objects around the map, pick upgrade and pass through the door!

The sound and art are really good, and I loved the palette. The controls are a bit clumsy, but overall, it's a good game with a solid concept. Good job!

I think this is an absolute gem! The music/art along with the very nicely designed page really sells the concept! Once I figured out how the gameplay worked, I really enjoyed how it felt to have to position correctly using different objects for different effects. The upgrades seemed a little broken, as I wasn't really sure which one I was selecting, and it took a lot of inputs to get it to go through. Overall, I really enjoyed it! Great job. I think with the features you outlined in the GDD, it could be a great full game.

Sorry about the upgrades breaking! Not sure what's happening there, I do wish I had more time to polish this, and add a tutorial level! I'm updating the game description to make it easier for people to understand the game for now.

Thank you for your kind words!
