- From playing this game, it feels like alchemy was the main focus of everything you put together. The idea of combining the different elements to create another one does make sense, but it just feels like another 'tile-matcher' style of game. And while I comprehended shadow as 'elemental effects', and alchemy as 'transformation' or 'combination', for me, this felt more 'bland' in its presentation. While playing, my mind went to actually showing which elements were being used; but also a possibility of there being a sort of instructional style of play that showed how each element effects one another. You can still include the barriers that prevent the player from matching elements, but it would feel more creative if the approach was different, instead of having to attempt things at first, and then not being able to do anything for a few minutes/or the game just stops while you watch the little mascot walk back and forth until you can place another tile. Lastly, while I did find the animations done for the gameplay to be well done, I do also believe things could be expanded upon to create a more unique experience with the core playstyle you were going for. All the same, keep up the hard work.
- Unfortunately, the game didn't work very well. I wasn't able to continue playing. Moreover, I wasn't sure how any of the mechanics worked, even after reading the tutorial. But that seems to be a product of the export not working. Hopefully the lessons learned on exports with Godot can be use to your favor next game jam. Otherwise it was a decent game and a cool idea.

"Alchepet" is a short tile matching game about transmuting elements. Match 4+ tiles to transmute them into the next element. But watch out for the eclipse! It's shadow will mess with your alchemical reactions! Can you transmute gold??
Extra Notes
Uses Godot 4.2 which has some known struggles with web exports. iOS & certain browsers run into issues. I recommend Chrome/Edge.

Just played Alchepet and I noticed a clever use of the jam's theme. I'd have to match the elements in 4 tiles where the shadows aren't blocking them to upgrade the element before it turns fully into gold. This game was way too difficult for me, I could never transmute my elements into gold but this game was really nicely made overall. I also noticed that this game had a help screen and an achievement screen. A very neat idea to incorporate them into this game jam. I don't know if this is only one level or there is more levels but this is a very solid submission indeed. The music and SFX sliders also work nicely too!
