This is a very cool RPG small game here. I love the background art and especially the sprites. Although, some animals just don't move, they have movement animations to them which I personally thought were really neat and showed that this game had the potential to be great. The enemy attacks are fairly basic. Once your torch lights up around an enemy, the enemy will come to attack the player. Also when I died, I was able to open the inventory system and close it like I would in normal gameplay. I know that there wasn't a lot of interaction but there were instances where I can open doors and interact with different objects to the point that I am hooked into exploring more of the game. I got to admit, this game is solid for this jam since the game fits the theme nicely!

- The art style is really cute and I like the overall concept. There were a few things that were a bit confusing. It wasn't clear how to loot swords from the first chest and put them into my inventory. One bug/issue: The name requirement is at least 3 alphanumeric characters, but entering 3 characters does not allow me to create a name. It looks like I needed 4 at least, so that message should be changed. Overall, I think there's a lot of potential to develop this further into a really strong RPG.
- So to start, the controls were easy to understand at the very least, but when it came to actually using some of them, they did not work. I could not attack any 'enemies' you had included in the game, and there even was a chest that had some weapons in them, with indicators (shift and space), but my initial assumption was trying to pick them up, and nothing worked with that either. To note, the options menu was not something I could select before starting the game as well. Regarding the themes, I cannot say that there was anything from my experience that suggested shadow or alchemy was being used; so there isn't anything I can say to this. Lastly, speaking on the artistic style; I found what you put together to be well done. From the environment and world, the characters (playable or not), the animals and other creature, items, etc, and the music--all of it very, very good. While I'm sure there's more that can come from this, during my experience I cannot say I had much to work with, so if there's a way to expand on the themes being implemented as well, that would be interesting to see. All the same, keep up the good work.
- This is a really good start! Really fun to see the hidden secrets. However, playability was limited by some bugs, particularly pressing Esc seems to cause the game to crash or hang when attempting to close the crafting menu. Similarly, I couldn't work out how to extract the swords from the chest. I could see what you were trying to do with the alchemy portion of the theme, but I felt that the shadow portion was just a bit gimmicky - the PirateSoftware secrets are nice but they didn't really add to the game itself. Really nice artistic style though, and I love the music!

Tell us about your game!
The game is an RPG with some combat, survival and crafting elements, players are free to play this way but for those that wish to explore deeper into the game, there will be puzzles and clues scattered around the map which the player will have to solve without much or any direction.
Ive incorporated the alchemy theme by having elements of crafting and puzzle solving
and then the theme of shadows by making the actual shadows provide buffs to enemies and also day/night cycles
The torch will be used to cleanse the shadows buffs
There will also be weapon classes, swords/axe/pickaxe/wateringcan/hoe which can be used as offensives or to do farming jobs as a method for resource gathering and management.
The player will need to have a supply of food/potions/water to survive
Controls are basic right now, just using the keyboard and minimal mouse.
Adding gamepad controls will be done after the main parts have been polished, as gamepad will interact slightly differently.
Extra Notes
im not sure how much of my vision will actually be completed by the time the jam ends, submitting this early to make sure it is in on time.
This isnt a full playable game since an RPG is a big task to take on, i have made a small demo which showcases different interactions and controls
