  • Lovely and cohesive art style and a really fun take on the Spreading theme! A clearer indication of how many turns you have left as well as bit more enemy variety would make this game an even better experience.

Tell us about your game!
NeverDone is a random room dungeon rogue-lite where a hero believes their journey is done. They defeated the Lich and located her last phylactery in the center of this dungeon. Alas, it was a trap and now the hero has to escape an ever expanding dungeon with the phylactery and withstand the lich’s minions.
. . .
The player will experience a single room per screen. Each room will be random with a random number of doors and enemies. They will have ten turns of the map's expansion before the game is over and the Lich wins. In order to exit the dungeon with the phylactery (in this demo) the character will have to defeat 3 mirror monsters that hold the keys to the boss room. Once the player obtains all 3 keys they will have to make their way to the boss to exit the dungeon and win the game. All important room locations will be color indicated on the map for this version of the game. No run should be exactly the same.

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?

Extra Notes
Thank you so much for this opportunity! We have learned a lot during this game jam and honestly can't wait to make the full build of the game after some sleep.

Ayyyyyee!! Great job!! Really enjoyed the game! The controls played really nicely, the art work looked great, and the dialog was funny. My first level spawned me pretty close to the exit, but even still I had a slight sense of panic when one of the rooms didnt lead to the direction I needed haha. Amazing submission, good luck!

Thank you so much for playing our game and I am happy to hear you enjoyed it! Hopefully we can refine that difficulty further in the future so more than the map will make you panic. Ha ha.

For a first jam y'all knocked it out of the park! Really liked the art style and the controls feel really nice to use. I got a particularly easy level but I generated another one and yeah this can get pretty difficulty.

In terms of things to add, the game is definitely too easy right now, perhaps make healing a bit more scarce, make the attack animation more satisfying, as well as beating the final boss. But that's pretty much all the nitpicks I have, great submission and a creative twist on the spreading theme with the spreading room!
