Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
The word "public" doesn't appear anywhere on my Google Drive. "General Access" appears, along with the words "Anyone with the link." This is the closest option that was present. Please don't hurt my family.
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes. But you won't be able to play it because Itch.io won't run it in a browser and I don't know how to fix that. God damnit.
Summarize your game!
Your name is Chosen. You are a superhero. Your superpower is that you become empowered by the hope of the world's population. You get more powers by beating bosses and increasing the hope of the world's population.
The World is Watching; this is the theme of the game jam. Earth is being invaded by extremely strong monsters. You are powerful enough to kill them. In addition, they possess humans and give them strong powers to try to kill you. The whole population of Earth is watching your battle -- it's being broadcast to everyone everywhere on Earth. YOUR POWER COMES FROM THE HOPE WITHIN THE HEARTS OF THE POPULATION.
Controls are WASD to move, Left Click to attack. Double tap A or D to dash. The game contains a tutorial on the first screen. But you won't be able to see it because it won't run in a browser. Unless you have a magic browser, which I don't doubt.
Please explain how your game fits the theme.
Your actions increase and decrease humanity's hope. Destroy parts of the cities and people lose some of their hope. Do evil things and hope goes down and is replaced by DESPAIR. Despair makes the final boss stronger, and also lets the final boss empower other enemies more effectively. Some of the battles are quite difficult, but there are always ways to survive -- perhaps at the cost of doing evil things, like destroying a building to get healing items, or even sucking the life force out of innocent bystanders to heal yourself. When you die, you respawn at the last checkpoint. Dying may reduce the hope meter. If you die so much that hope is bottomed out, there is a floor beyond which it can't fall further, and defeating the boss in a hopeless state immensely rekindles hope in the population because it's such a dramatic turn of fortune, so the hope meter goes up a lot. There are special boss finishing endings to fights if you're completely hopeless when you strike the final blow, and likewise if your hope meter is maxed out.
Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
No
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Yeah. Get the game to run in a browser and I'll be ecstatic. The parts of the game I'm proud of are self-evident.

I tried to run it in my browser but sadly I could not get the game to load.
Thanks for trying to get it to run! I couldn't get it to run in the browser either. Only the downloadable version works. :~/
