VeriData Inc. is a spreadsheet-style puzzle game where you play as a corporate employee working as 9-5 with a boss and co-workers always messaging you. The game is a play on the monotony of corporate life and spending all day in a spreadsheet. The player reads chat logs to learn about how to use the spreadsheet software and learn what is happening at the office. It is up to the player to take what they have learned in the past and solve the puzzles the coworkers are asking for help with.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
When tasked with a theme “The World is Watching”, we wanted to play with an idea outside of the box. Straying away from a larger macro scenario where everyone in the world is watching, we decided to take the theme and flip it onto its head where your world is watching you. At your office, the company is the entire world. There is no outside communication within the four walls of a corporate office. Everyone there is your world and no one else is relevant. Your 9-5 world is always watching.

After this initial implementation, we wanted to double-down on the theme. The idea of a micro-managing boss may only be one person looking over your shoulder, but it can seem like your entire world is in this one person. While your micromanager is watching everything you do, and all your coworkers are messaging you through the day, pressure easily mounts to complete every new puzzle.
