Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
WASD/Arrow Keys/Space controls. ESC/Enter/Mouse/Keyboard UI. A platformer with puzzles where available routes can depend on if puzzles are solved. The story about the darkness hanging over the world is revealed through the puzzles.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
A literal take on the World is Watching: eyes on the terrain can end your journey if caught in their gaze for too long.

Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
No

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The player may need to use cryptii or something similar to solve the puzzles, as I wasn't sure of the legality of including similar tooling.

Nice idea of combining platformer game and story-driven puzzles;  it would be good for me if there were more hints. The theme of light and dark is also very interesting.

Developer

Thank you for trying the game!  The idea for the first several levels was for the NPCs to introduce or hint at puzzles or mechanics, but they're more flavor for the story afterwards. Do you have any ideas on how hints could be further incorporated?

Level 3 was a doozy (both in riddle and in surviving the eyes)! Cool idea! I've never seen a game on itch with twitch chat integration either, good stuff!

Developer

Thanks!  The idea for level 3 was that some spots need a little patience while another is a race against time.  The integration was surprisingly easy with the library, but I didn't want it to directly impact play.

Interesting game... Though the requirement to use external cryptography tools is.... a bit jarring when paired with quite challenging platforming (I died quite frequently).  Though I did find if very fun/funny that the death-eyes treat you like a man in a van offering free candy.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! The chat can be really weird/funny with an active channel (doesn't have to be yours, no login or anything). Sorry about the external tool thing. I just wasn't sure about the legality of including cipher tools in the game (even these simple ciphers) so decided against it. edit: Oh, wanted to point out, the relics can be skipped - it's just easier to do some of the platforming by solving them.
