Completed! The game is fairly easy to complete. I only got stuck because of my bad English. Play it.

I'm a bit stuck at the moment too, but I'll persevere for the moment.

I always do a few unlikely things to see what'll happen, and this was one result.

Oops. Thanks for that. Another fix for the post-comp release.

For anyone that's really stuck, if you can't wait for me to respond, don't forget that there's a HINT command that's very helpful, sometimes too helpful.

I’m stuck again.

You pause for a moment. You haven’t completed step 1 of the spell. You need to cleanse your uncle’s body.

  1. Pour holy water over witch’s body.

But I did!

And other stuff:

> write adulescens on parchment
… This must be a magical parchment that only accepts magic spells.

> talk to esmeralda about crystal ball
“I’m a fortune teller, not an encyclopedia. I don’t know anything about that.”

I think you've missed something. I can't say too much for fear of spoiling it for someone else. Just remember that you're trying to resurrect two people, not one.

You can only write the correct spell on the parchment. Anything else fades away. Remember what it said in the spell book about the spell you're trying to use.

You can only TALK TO ESMERALDA or ASK HER ABOUT <something>.  I think you meant the latter. There's currently no response for the crystal ball, but I can add that in a post-comp release. You can ask her about a lot of things. As an example, EXAMINE CRYSTAL BALL mentions the future, so ASK ESMERALDA ABOUT FUTURE is a good one to try.

I followed the same procedure for the two people to be resurrected, the uncle and the aunt, as written in the spell book.

Anyway, I’ll wait for you to publish the solution.

Would anyone like to see the map and solution? I normally don't publish these until after the comp.

Nice game.

I’m stuck. I’ve made good progress and I’ve got lots of objects (maybe too many!) I need a small key (for the drawer), a penny and I don’t know what else might be useful.

An quotation mark is missing at the end of the sentence:
“Only a coin or something else of value will gain you an audience with Esmeralda.

There may be a few messages/events missing about the books in the library.

And other stuff:
> eat dead boar
I don’t suppose the dead boar would care for that.

In Front of Old Farmhouse :
> open window
You can’t open that.

Thanks for the bug reports. I'll fix those in a post-comp release.

You won't find a key for the drawer, so you'll need to pick the lock. Have you been to your aunt's bedroom yet? If not, that should be your next goal. (Hint: You can't get in through the bedroom door.)

Yes, of course I went to the aunt’s room. I put the hairpin on myself (and forgot about it) thinking I’d give it to Esmeralda, who seems to need to get dressed!
I’ll look into it.

Don’t worry, kids, Esmeralda’s all dressed up! Garry will not go to jail. I was fooled by this:
“But she still needs to feed and clothe herself …”
