not a huge fan of overcooked, but damn you gotta give it to dexter for always pulling off crazy shit with this game

First and foremost, let's talk about the fact he freaking turn Paper Mario into a game of Overcooked? Then again, this the guy who made a Rouge-like out of Paper Mario, so if anyone could pull it off in such a short period of time, it makes sense it would be him.

The mod itself was fun (once I fully figured out how it worked) and it was a nice way to introduce/refamiliarize myself with the genre.  It is deceptively difficult but that and the ranking system do add to the replay system.  Which is perfect, as this would be a short mod otherwise.  While assets themselves aren't anything new, the fact they've been repurposed into a completely new style of gameplay is amazing.  First level makes a great introduction to the gameplay, though maybe the tutorial could make it a little more apparent that I have to hold down the button on the rolling pin to mix the batter...as I got stuck because of that level for more time than I'd like to admit  because of that... Second level really went out of it's way with the details.  There's so much going on in the background as you play it that really add charm to it.

Third level...oh boy... it had a very interesting gimmick, but oh boy, it was hard.  Not to it was a bit buggy, as I found myself passing through counters at times and I'm pretty sure I got myself soft-locked at least once. What is it with the mods in this game jam trying to make me hate Gourmet Guy? xD It certainly felt good when I finally was able to beat it though.

Overall, amazing idea, a few unpolished moments, but definitely understandable given the time frame it was made in.  I do see myself going back to this mod someday to perfect my cake baking skills.

My wife and I died laughing watching Thamz play this one. I didn't beat his high score of 10. This was a really interesting mod, the final level is priceless. The custom HUD is really good, there's lots of potential here! I appreciate all the work that went on under the hood in this one.

Oh man, you've absolutely outdone yourself here.

Between this and Black Pit, you've not only demonstrated that you have a great amount of skill in terms of custom ASM, but also that you can create really fun core gameplay mechanics. Now I haven't played Overcooked, so I don't really have a reference for this, but I can say that the mod in isolation was insanely fun. Having to juggle all the different ingredients and bowls around to get an optimal time was very gratifying. I even managed to get 3 stars on the first level 👀.

I also like that there's multiple varieties of cake, not to mention other small things like the completely custom title screen with high score board (even if it doesnt seem to work all too well).

Really, you did a fantastic job. You've gone way beyond anything I could've ever expected from this jam, even though you didn't quite get to polish it to your liking. 👏

Oh Dexter, I am a big fan of this modder so I was so excited to play this mod myself!

The mod itself is based off the main gameplay loop of "Overcooked" which is a frantic arcade cooking sim that let you cook dishes for orders under a time limit. It uses Peach and all her little cooking animation in the base game and the translation is  super well. Obviously, Dexter custom coded lots of little details and gameplay stuff to make it work well and it came off soo fun. I replayed it a few times just to beat my high scores. It really showcases Dexter flexibility as a modder to make this RPG to a whole different type of game!

I loved it and it turned out to be one of my personal favorites in the jam!
