Description
This track was recorded in an Orchestral style and is meant for a Metroid/Castlevania or RPG styled game. I used Reaper as my DAW and Midi to create this track.

Theme:

Two Worlds
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I wanted to capture the sudden twist to the blood red scene caught in the picture theme. I imagined the explosive chorus was the opening of the rift between the picture themes world and another world beyond it.

the sudden shift into the evil sounding section really fits the name of the track!

I really like your mix. It feels balanced. It definitely spoke of the 2 worlds! :)

Just a couple of nitpicking thing (but mind you, I'm still a beginner):

- I'm curious what it sounds like if you had put more reverb on it, so it sounds less dry
- The piano chords triatones, I wonder if you have played around with a more open chords (i.e. instead of F2-Am2-C3, try F2-C3-Am3, if that makes sense haha). My feeling about piano is that closed chords doesn't quite sound as nice as open chords on the lower piano registers.

Overall awesome job! You really did highlight the happier and sadder tunes very nicely!

Thank you so much for listening to the track!

Im a newbie as well so any conversation about technique or theory is highly appreciated. :)

Currently the track is being bussed through a master reverb that I used to fill out the track sonically. I tried using a larger room reverb and bumping the volume on it but it came across more muddied that open, if that makes sense.

For the chords I used I kind of just went by my limited music theory and my ear. I'm currently relearning chord theory so its all a bit new for me. I'll try out your chord progression you posted because I'd like to get another approach towards the track. I think what my ear wanted out of the chords I picked is the tension that sort of naturally leads the song into the grand chorus. ( Again I'm still pretty new to theory and stuff so I'm just speculating xp).

Thanks again though! I truly appreciate your input because it'll help me become a better composer.

Have a good one :).

Thanks for considering my comments. Apologies for not being clear though, I didn't mean the chord progressions. I think your chord progressions are fine as is! I meant when you play the chords, at the moment I heard a closed F minor chord like (pardon my solfege),

Closed: fa - la - do (sounds muddy)

Open: fa - do - la (sounds balanced)

I hope it makes a bit more sense what I'm trying to say. Sorry my music theory is also quite limited :D This is just nitpicking comments. Your soundtrack is awesome :)

No need for apologies! I appreciate the input greatly! I see what you are saying now and Im going to try messing around more with the composition to see how that effects the score ^^.

I really enjoyed this track. The nice calming beginning mixed with the chaotic middle before slowly ending in a somewhat mysterious note.

In my opinion, your composition really nailed it in terms of theme and audio quality.

Every sound I heard was crystal clear and just at the right volume so not to drown out the other instruments.

I can't really find anything to critique about the song beyond a few minor nitpicks.

Overall, a well produced song.

Good job :)

Thank you so much! I was very self conscious about this track due to limited time restraints and your comment has made me feel way better about it! Hope you have a lovely day.
