You can of course decide to participate or not depending on the theme once its announced - that's the challenge. It will be broad enough that pretty much anything can be made to fit the theme.

And if the question is not "what would you like" but "what do you think it will be", I would bet on either

"emulation" (which is not only related to emulation of gaming console or even pc)

"building".

And on the last one, I also bet for the next codejam: "rules" (discovery => building => rules (as a dictator XD))
