a mix of many interesting incremental mechanics in a way that doesn't feel very overwhelming. the prestige mechanic is pretty cool once you find out how it works, it's great when games have more "immersive" mechanics.
the game itself is not complicated, but this version from the jam is a bit hard to comprehend as there aren't many explanations '^^
This was really cool! I'm big on minimalist, functional UI, especially for incrementals, and yours was spot-on. The game felt very balanced and having to maintain your pressure in the early game kept me feeling engaged as I looked through the upgrades and tried to make the various products. I feel like you wanted people to experiment with different temp/pressure/fill values in order to generate the products you need to progress, but I would have liked just a touch of guidance for the non-petrochemical engineers like myself!
Hey thanks for trying it out I really appreciate it! I will definitely be doing some bigger changes once the Jam is over to the game to rebalance and fix some of the more confusing aspects of the game.
I don't think I need to leave a huge review for this one, everything about it is fun and enjoyable, a really cool concept with an interesting juggling mechanic. My singular gripe is that it was hard to tell that I was supposed to blow up my Refinery to actually start the real game, but otherwise everything was super awesome. Art Style, especially a consistent art style, game balance, direction, theme, everything paired well and worked well. Great job
For anyone as confused as I was about what to do next, try reaching max pressure. That'll kick start the game into the real deal.
Yeah intentionally destroying the refinery is where more stuff unlocks.
I think it's a cool way to unlock progression for sure, not many games I can think of that have their "prestige" mechanic behind something thematically appropriate and that actually fully resets you (except obviously your ceramic and ceramic upgrades)
Oh it is the game's prestige mechanic its just the first time I've done one where the game resets you for failing rather than you choosing to do so.
