  • controls are old-school hard, but that's on genre. levels were well designed. unsure if it is on theme? but i'd lean no.

Simple game executed well. Good job i had fun playing it! Couple of tricky levels but nothing overly hard. Hardest part was getting past the minimalist control scheme. Would play again.

Great job! Once I got used to the controls it was a blast to play and I tried to keep getting lower times even if I beat a level. The artstyle for this game was nice as well, well done!

Loved this!  Fun puzzles and some very stressful (in a good way!) moments trying to guide them to the end!

This was fun! I had trouble in the menu at first as I kept wanting to hit enter but needed to hit x. I ended up figuring it out the... the difficulty definitely upped in the third level!

I really love how polished the retro aesthetic and feel of the game is - not to mention how clever the basic idea is. Small interactions like dashing or pushing your little guys forward are super satisfying, and executing the solution to the levels are challenging but rewarding!

To suggest something that could be improved - since dashing is tied to the arrow keys, when I was moving my character to finely adjust the position of objects I often found myself accidentally dashing and subsequently dying by falling in water or spikes, which was honestly a good laugh but I can imagine people getting pretty frustrated about it and potentially ragequitting the game. Perhaps having a dedicated button for dashing would lead to less input errors and feel more responsive?

Since difficulty seems to be a common complaint, I think making a change like that would help solve the issue without having to compromise on the actual puzzle difficulty, which is actually a big part of the appeal of the game for me.

Congrats on finishing the jam!

Yeah you're right about the dashing. It was something I added for speedrunning but it ends up causing more problems than it solves! Thanks for the feedback.

Amazing game, you did a lot of work and it looks stunning. However got a bit stuck on level 2 - 3 because it only gives you one cannon

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing the game and making it that far! 2-3 is beatable but you need to reuse the cannon by picking it up again after firing. There’s a bit more to it but I’ll leave that to you :)

Fun game mechanics with lots of interactions! The difficulty felt really good to me, and there were a lot of levels for a game jam! Controlling the character is sometimes a bit difficult but I guess that is part of the difficulty :D

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, the character control got a bit tricky after I added friction for the ice levels but I couldn’t find a fix for it, so I sacrificed some control so I could keep the ice levels. Appreciate the feedback, will check out your game too!
