Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous.

  • Q to continue conversations you just started with E is a bit counterintuitive, especially when you can move mid-conversation and the fact that it locks any further conversations (even across different days, so leaving an open conversation and going to bed still leaves you stuck).

How does your game fit the theme?
It is a game about being a Monke going to Monke town

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 4 days?

Yes

Did your team create the vast majority of the music during the 4 days?

It was a bit odd. I liked exploration but that cave area had funky collisions. I managed to get into the wall for some time. The game gave me a creepy vibe. But I like the inclusion of all major characters.

Hm? What made it creepy? Also, yeah, the mountain did have some weird collisions. I just didn't have the time and energy to mess with the collision system until it was perfect

IDK man, maybe it’s just this style of pixel art. I also get kinda creeped out looking at old dos games. Maybe I’m too used to the cute UwU graphics.

Thank you! Sound and art design are really hit or miss with me, so glad I didn’t do too bad

I like the visuals and the music of your game! They gave a really cozy vibe.  Also the beginning/ending cinematic were very entertaining and the NPC dialogue was really fun. The player movement felt slow so it was a bit boring moving through the map, specially when going to the mountain. There were also some weird collisions were the character would get stuck but it was nothing game breaking. Good work!

By the way I loved the  Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town Cover at the end lmao.

Lol thanks. Also I did notice some janky collisions, but for some reason making working collisions in my engine feels near impossible I always end up with some way to break them or they look ugly. Regarding movement I thought it was a bit slow too, but never ended up changing it. (The character at the top of the mountain somewhat makes fun of how long it takes by asking “was it worth it?” Then again not sure I got around to fixing that dialogue box

The Intro was very funny! I'm sorry you couldn't finish it the gme but the music was still pretty fun! Keep up the good work!
