Cool game there were some jumps that felt a little too hard but I know how hard it is to make that with it being randomly generated so overall good job! Also some audio would help.

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yeah i have absolutely no knowledge in audio design... so its pretty hard for me to design good audio

I just love what you did with the logo! It's so smart, so clean.. Although I have to agree with an earlier comment that due to the function of the temp and clock being the same, the clock didn't feel so useful. The cube was really nicely drawn, so it would've been nice to see that consistent art style in the rest of the game! Overall, I liked the concept of the game and the somewhat slippery movement really added to the melting-ice-cube-feel.

Thanks for playing the game and taking the time to write a comment.

Theme is implemented nicely, but some objects are not "jumpable" if u can say it like that. Took me some time to get to couple of places. I like the artstyle but platforms could be something other that just bricks, maybe add couple more sprites? Problemo: when you drop down your height meter doesn't decrease. Maybe I misunderstood and its not a meter but a record tracker, but I think you got what I said

Developer

Thanks for your criticism. I didn't have enough time to make the platform generator perfect so that every run is fully possible. And yeah the height counter is a record tracker.

Theme Implementation and Special Feature Implementation:

The clock and the concept of temperature both function identically as a timer, making one of them redundant. I quite like how you showed this relation in the thumbnail with analogue clock hands on a thermometer bulb, but then you also added a clock to that.

I think you could have tried something a little more distinct with these two implementations. For instance: what if you had a clock for a timer, and then also had a thermometer that reacted to hot areas on the map (which you would then need to add) giving you both an incentive to move quickly and an incentive to move around more accurately. Just food for thought.

Fun Factor:

With such precise platforming, it pays to have a tight control scheme. Jump arcs shouldn't be perfect parabolas, but should arc more steeply on the decline. You can do this in Unity by changing the gravity scale on the rigidbody depending on whether the player is falling or climbing. More information here:

Gameplay:

A fairly standard procedurally generated platformer with a timer.

Audio:

N/A

Graphics:

I quite liked the player character and how he constantly looked up. I think you could have improved it a bit by putting the eyes on a seperate layer so that the sweat/melt droplets don't obscure them.

I thought the platforms weren't very interesting and the background could have been better.

I hope I've been helpful. I know this review may come a across as harsh, but I just wanted to argue for the rating I would give this game.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the in depth criticism.

I will look into the things you said and use them in future games.

In some case it is very hard to go on the next platform cause the upper platform stops your trayectory...

hey wath a pretty ice cube!!
