when should game development start and end?

(sorry if this is obvious, I don't know how jams work)

You can stat as soon as limitation will be chosen and end in time to submit your game. If you won't make it before rating starts (72 hours after the limitation), you can submit late, but it will spoil your ratin a bit if I remember it right
