An interesting concept!

I didn’t understand what light does at first, but after several tries I realized there is a HP bar and it gets refilled :)

Light ray refill both HP and Mana, which is used to cast the light rays themselves and to shoot energy balls to extinguish the fires! We probably should have added a bit of a tutorial

For (I assume) a first time project, made by two people in two days this is great! In fact this is one of the few games that I have finished in this jam.
Some tips: I would have appreciated some kind of feedback about taking damage, like a sound effect or a screen flash. Also, in Godot, you can turn off "Filter" in the import tab of an image, leading to crisp pixel art.
Other than that, good job!

Yes, this was basically our first time using Godot, we just tried for a couple of hours in the past month... we're web developers so we knew already how to code, but we had no previous experience with game engines!

I absolutely agree on the feedback part, we implemented it only for taking damage by being inside the "darkness" and not when walking over the flames, we didn't have enough time to implement it.

We'll try the "Filter" option for sure!

Thanks for your kind words, you were really nice!
