Software used
Unity, FL studio, Native Instruments and spitfire (audio plugins for FL Studio).

Use of the limitation
Hades will bet somewhat randomly on who will win a round of the card game, and in order to win enough rounds without being killed, you are going to have to throw some of the ones he bet you would lose. In a few words, losing sometimes can keep you alive.

Cookies eaten
I don't remember the exact number, but I probably ate like 4 or 5.

I commend you for doing a card game but there are some issues with presentation. Could use simpler font and more contrasting colours also show clearly what is happening at any given time.

Developer

I am aware, simpler font is a way, but I've tried it, I think it's not clean enough because it was my first attempt at pixel text, and I didn't have time to properly learn typography during the jam, so I used a very rough system for generating text in the editor and then I doctored it up later when it was particularly atrocious looking, it's a bad system. I have more time now though. I'm definitely planning on continuing this game, but it needs a major rework for sure.

Good game, I like the idea. Though the interface is confusingly complicated, there is something I like about it, probably the style. Nicely done.

Developer

Thanks, I was concerned about the interface, I decided to change the card colors, and background once the voting has ended. Actually I posted what it'll look like in a comment further down, if you feel like it, I'd love to know which color scheme you think is better.

Hard to say really, the dark one is definitely easier to eye, though, the one in the game suits more to the Greek mythology theme, you know. But I'd pick the darker one, as it will not be painful to play for longer duration. Also, it does look beautiful so I don't think there is a loss there.

Developer

Sounds like a plan, thanks for the feedback.

Your game screen could use a darker background to create more contrast on the text and improve readability.

I'll try this in the editor, I was definitely struggling to get colors that made the text more readable. I'm thinking it's possible that the text itself is difficult to read. P.S. I made the cards look darker, and changed the background color, it won't be on the site until the voting ends, but what are your thoughts?

Admittedly, there is a lot to take in here. I'm already pretty bad with card games to begin with, but nevertheless I gave it my best. I think the concept is pretty unique, and I like the backstory you give the players. For future iterations, you might consider a tutorial to help the player. Artwork worked well enough, and the sounds/music were definitely unique! Good job!

Thanks, I agree that a tutorial of some sort would be great, I just ran low on time so all I managed to get in was the rules page, which is very cluttered.
