Overall game design is very good. I found myself constantly going, "Wait, where does THAT lead to, what's over THERE?" and running around and backtracking a lot, which is exactly what you want in a Metroidvania. It never got old or felt too tedious to me. Visually it looks good too, loved the backgrounds especially!

Also really liked the music, but sometimes it would clip/become distorted, and I don't think it was due to my speakers. I think the music may have been exported at too high a volume.

As much as I enjoyed exploring, I think the combat mechanics could use some tweaking. The sword strike doesn't seem to work, and the animation is a bit long for a standard melee attack. I found myself using the bow all the time and thankfully the enemies never charged at me, so that made it much easier. Maybe a little TOO easy haha.

Finally, I did find one game-breaking bug: I tried rolling through a narrow lower passage but lifted the button too soon before getting to the end of that tunnel, and my poor elf man got stuck in a perpetual falling animation.

This has some potential though; curious to see how it evolves!

The character movement and art style works well!

Some thoughts:

- I'm not sure a limited ammo system makes sense as it currently is. The bow could work as a secondary attack alongside a melee attack.

- The cutscene still seems a little bugged, where it will trigger the same dialogue multiple times.

Good luck with continuing the project!

Your game looks good visually and gameplay is fun too. Eventhough you used premade assets, i think you did a good job blending them and your level design is pretty good as well. You managed to capture the Castlevania feeling very well. The flaws of your game are;

-You cannot damage enemies with melee attack. This is a serious problem since your arrows are limited. Also there's no need to hold d button to execute the melee attack.

-There's sprite tearing in your tilemap. I don't know how to fix that in Godot but it can be fixed with simple sprite atlas in Unity, probably it could be fixed in Godot with the same way.

-You cannot move your character but camera moves when you jump and use directional buttons. Also your character makes jumping sound.

-You cannot kill the  boss if you're out of arrows since it's the only way you can damage it. When you jump to the platform in the boss room, boss cannot follow you there and stuck on the edge of the platform.  I would give that water mage boss some kind of range attack as well. Also you need to add a healthbar to the boss. Currently the boss fight is quite broken.

Overall i really enjoyed the game, it really scrathed my Castlevania itch! :) I hope you turn this into a full game. Good job and good luck

Thanks for the comment and observations. There really are things to fix, but unfortunately my computer broke in the build process and I'm out of resources to do all the repairs.
