I had pitched "the health bar" to my buddy while brainstorming xD I'm really glad someone did it!
looks like a nice time. love the playful tone of voice used and the cheerful drawn style!

I love how you used the theme. I love the characters classes and species. Everything about your game feels unique and embraces creativity. I don't have a printer so I have not played your game (although I would like to) my impression of the map was that it is not very open. Limited movement options could result in players just standing near the doors and clubbing everything as soon as it comes through. I hope I am wrong, but the game seems to encourage never moving. In your next map you could have a smoothie machine that teleports around and a player has to touch it every other round to keep it from exploding. The peacewathcers (coward they are) could try to smash it. Give it three HP and everyone loses if it breaks. Everyone will have to move much more and play both aggressively and defensively. I don't know. I love the art and ideas. I want to see this game picked up by a publisher. It is just so unique.

Hi, Thank you so much!!!

We had so many plans to make the map more interactive and for it to be a more integral part of the game, such as findable weapons, darts, get smoothies mid fight for HP boosts, hide in the bathroom, bar the doors, set traps etc but unfortunately time ran out before we could properly test and implement them. So we thought, keep it simple for the game jam, so at least it all works ok lol. Then if people like it we can make a bigger, more fleshed out game later.

Thanks for raising the point about never moving. That's something to work on and make it more dynamic. In our testing we found fleeing sometimes was a good option - especially for my low hit point Pantherfolk who bit off more then he could chew.

I am so glad that you like the ideas behind 'The Health Bar' and our hastily done sketches :) I just hope people have fun with it.

I've already downloaded your game and am looking forward to checking it out later :)

All of that sounds awesome. When you make more complex maps I will print them out (at the library). This is a great proof of concept and I am excited to see what you can do with more time. :)
