Really nice game, very inspiring top down view, I very rarely play games like this. It was intriguing to see your level design and has given plenty of food for thought. Great sound design! It would be good for you to add to this, maybe a mobile game version would be good to work on? Amazing work! Than you for creating the game and helping others like myself.
Thank you :)
Yeah I don't really play top downs, but wanted to experiment as I have recently had a go at games like Balder's Gate and Darkwood, and wanted to have a go. I also remember way back when playing board games like Hero Quest, and wanted to get that feel.
Did you play this with a controller? If so it was never tested, just wondered how it reacted? I've got one on it's way, so hopefully will be able to play your entry tomorrow!
I did play with controller as it made the camera smoother. Oh that's really good of you, sorry you had to go out your way to buy a gamepad, I design all my games for gamepad tbh. However, its now apparent I may have a bigger audience to think about. If not, I shall make some changes to a future release of the game to be PC friendly.
Enjoyed the vibe and colors good work!
Thank you, completely ran out of time for post production filters, but pretty happy with the light levels as is for this prototype :)
Enjoyed the vibe and colors good work!
Felt and looked smooth, no complaints!
Thank you :) I built this purposely on an old rig I had stored away from 2014, I reckoned if it could build and run the game anyone else's sytem should do fine!
Ok i played your game and i have to say, its my favorite by far! The camera perspective was so unique yet immersive. Your environment was really well done even if it was quixel bridge, it didn't look kit bashed xD. their was a flow of the game even though i got stuck a bit finding the lighter. Tbh i would love to see a full version of this game and even would love to help with further development. Great work
Thank you so much, yeah I really had fun with this, and if you wanted to give me a follow we can keep up to date!
Hey bro, unrelated to this message (I didn't know how to dm) I reuploaded my game and I hope it works now. Please try it and give any feedback (no sound on it btw).
Looked good and played smooth. The camera was a little fast for my taste but worked fine. Environments were nice too as was the character movement. I got turned around a couple times but the level layout stopped me from wandering the wrong way for too long. Nice job!
Thanks! I'm going to implement a camera smoothing system due to your thoughts as I completely agree. It's basically running the basic Unreal third person camera logic at the moment.
Enjoyed the perspective and environment. Inventory was cool, glad it casts the lighter to use after grabbing it. Good job!
Thank you :) and yeah the blueprint nodes for that probably aren't the most elegant, I mostly was trying to fight all the widgets being shown at once, not at all, or mashed together; I've found IsValid is a silver bullet!
