hihi! this will be my first game jam so if anyone has any tips I would be really appreciative :D

(also praying the game engine I want to use is released in time to use 馃槶)

馃槶 what engine could you POSSIBLY be using for it to not be released yet???

here are a few tips ive heard from other game devs btw:

1. don't be afraid of spending a whole day on just planning. a game like minecraft could EASILY be made in under a year, but the reason it took so long to get to the state it is now is because of concepting.

2. do little steps at a time. plan the game. make a basic, bare bones, playable version. add custom assets. slowly add more and more features. if you want add your own things. optimize if you want as well. finally do bug fixing.

3. HAVE FUN! i know everyone says this and it's really corny but you have to believe me. stay relaxed. this may seem competitive, but please remember that the whole point of this and many other game jams is to learn to art of game development. if you even get as far as like, i don't know, starting up a new unity project, I'd still consider that a win.

and yeah those are all my tips 馃憤

thanks! and the whole day planning I really should consider 馃槶 I'm way to used to rushing things and getting to the fun part lol.

and the game engine is called Mach :3 it's written in zig and I'm a massive fan of that language so would love to give it a go :D

ooh seems interesting i might check it out

additionally, there's no harm in doing things your way! if whatever result you get makes you happy, then so be it. nobody can stop you >:3
