Awesome game!

- no music, kind of a let down. even a fun music isn't by you would do a great job here. lower than usual but at least it's something... /:

Graphics: great overall. mostly the theme is theirs.

Innovation: very fun, not a lot of games are built this way. well done!

gameplay is awesome.

polish is an absolute 5 star. the only rating I ever told in this jam because here there are no bugs, made sure to auto switch the position if moving from top floor to side one (so if in middle row it will go to the closest side wall instead of middle) and also noticed the blocks on the side might not always hit you if you stand on the same side, at a different level.

Well done!

hey, thanks for the review.

+ I had some cool plans for the music. To play it with the same BPM as the game's pulse . To play some traditional Persian music (I'm a music composer btw at Spotify etc) ... But then suddenly I was addicted to The Witcher 1 , which stole me a lot of time haha

+ The cube transportation is done very simply by checking the nearest Wall point of the opposite wall. I'll make sure to upload the source code. Generally the algorithm is simple, but it could've been hell if I used the wrong polymorphism setup... (Like treating walls as Transform or GameObject or not having a Left Right Up Down enum etc)

Thanks again!

Everything was perfectly put in place like a master of art in front of a blank canva - oh waittaminute, it was me!

1 - The Gameplay is decent, movement is quick & responsive
2 - The Topic was respected pretty well, with the art style, but the theme not so much
3 - This is pretty original in a way by having to move in the wall to get the pickups, but it's core Gameplay is repeated in a lot of other games

4 - The Lighting is pretty good, graphics overall is decent

5 - Missing Music and SFX, is a big down, it can lead to some pretty boring moments when you are playing with friends for example, adding it will help your game a lot

6 - Finally,  Polish, nothing to say really apart from the Music and SFX part, adding them will help your feel more polish and finished

keep working on it, you can always make it better, gl

Hey. thanks for the comment.

I had actually planned on adding some really crazy Persian music to rhythm with the game pulse haha. did you notice the game pulse? I programmed it to pulse in 120 BPM and if you're a musician you'd know what that means :) but then I was engaged playing The Witcher 1 for 2-3 days straight which, well, umm, took that idea away from happening. So instead you can listen to a 120/90/60 BPM music while playing for now 😅

Review:

  1. I am a big fan of the overall gameplay. The controls are snappy and quick to move, and I really like the idea of switching walls. It adds a new kind of dimension in this game.
  2. The game does slightly fit the theme considering it's based on the persian culture, but it doesn't really match with the topic that well.
  3. This game is very innovative in terms of gameplay. As I said in the first point, I really like this "parkour" style of platforming so that gets a 4 star rating out of me.
  4. The graphics are the best from any game I've seen in this jam so far, especially the lighting.
  5. Unfortunately there wasn't much music/sfx, I'd recommend adding that.
  6. I would give the polish criteria 5 stars if a restarting feature was implemented, so it's 2 stars.

Also my highest score was 103 :)

Oh you're lucky you lost at 103. If you go on for some 150 or so you'll start to get headache :( I think it's the lighting and the bloom that causes it... try not to proceed further than 100 points.

+ I talked about the music in the other comment. I have a very disappointing excuse

That was really cool.
