A nice simple rhythm game, fairly simple but an effective time-waster.
Personally I'd prefer if the icons were also shaped to resemble arrows in addition to displaying the letter. Overall its easier for me to associate WASD with directions rather than letters. Ultimately I kept getting confused with which letter corresponded with which direction but that's just a me thing, thought I'd bring it up any way.
Its also nice touch that killing a skeleton restores 1 hp in case you made a mistake or two on the way. Makes the game less punishing.
Thanks for playing! I actually fully agree with you on that criticism and wish it was something we thought about earlier. I had a similar idea a little too late to implement. We wanted to add some extra form of healing more incorporated into the gameplay between some fights, but unfortunately time got the better of us. I’m glad it worked out in a fun way anyways.
Nice art and music! Is there an end or is the gamplay infinite?
Thanks for playing and for the compliments! There is an end to the game with a twist on the soundtrack too!
The boss is hard , would be nice to have HP restoration after each burst of letters on the boss too haha
Nvm, maybe it's a good difficulty. Just had to actually focus more :D
I’m glad you were able to get it. Balancing the difficulty isn’t easy and maybe it could have been done better, but I’m happy that it’s hard enough to be rewarding to complete.
I would have not considered a rhythm game for this jam's theme. Great job, love the pixel art.
Thanks! I'm happy to see the idea was unexpected.
