How is your game related to the Theme and Special Object?
The theme is not connected to my game. I didn't care for the them. half way through the Jam I remembered I hd to follow the them and was to late to connect my game to the theme, so I just finished my game to have something to turn in for feedback.

I think the controls are quite difficult, but with some better balancing and an easier tutorial level, I think it would be interesting to see!

This reminds me of the booster jetpack from Cave Story! I think the triangle boost needs to accelerate the player at a more consistent rate rather than blasting them off. On the flipside walking left and right should have a much faster acceleration or maybe just a set velocity. I'd recommend following some tutorials on platformers to see how other people address these issues.

The controls were very difficult. Would have preferred a gradual increase in difficulty. Maybe you could make different smaller levels demonstrating your mechanics first, then make this final level requiring all of the skills the player has learnt.

fair enough. I’ll start focusing on tutorial kind of levels next time I do a short Jam like this.

Whilst playing the game I felt as though the player controls were a bit too difficult to manage. The player gains/loses speed painfully slow. It was cool that you made it possible for the player to jump twice when using the dash mechanic and I really liked the shapeshifting, however, it was rather unpredictable. I'm eager to see future submissions from you in other game jams.

I truly apologise. Did not explain well that dashing left or right generates speed. The point is to generate speed to avoid the bullets. You can dash using all arrows up down left right.

Please play the game again. You are missing a very crucial aspect of the game.  2 dashes left or right 1 dash up or down.

Dashes reset after touching the ground.  And when you're done please comment again on your experience.

Interesting.

What engine was used to make this game?

Developer(+1)

The engine I used was GameMaker.
I am an absolutely terrible coder. I’ve just been trying to figure out how to improve my ability to Design Games for about three months.

Call it my new years revolution!!

Thank you for retrying my game.

Did you replay the game and how was your experience?

Yes I retried the game and was able to get a little further in the level but I wasn't able to finish it :(
