The attempt at sort of Old English at the beginning was interesting, but it wasn't very well-done, to be frank. It also didn't seem to have a point / purpose and really didn't fit with the tone of the rest of the game, so I'm not sure that it is something you'll want to continue with.

Someone else mentioned this already, but I also found the bats to be a little too strong, especially for a starting area -- I know you mentioned being able to avoid the fights, but if the goal is to avoid them, why include them, rather than making it a full stealth section? Or, alternatively, maybe give the player some sort of advantage to make avoiding them easier, like a faster walk speed?

You also mentioned that you didn't have a problem with the fights, but as the dev, you have to remember that you have an intimate knowledge of the game and the enemies in it, so you're able to better predict the outcomes and plan ahead, whereas your player is going in without any of that. Eventually, through trial and error we figure it out, but by the 3rd or 4th death, I'm very likely to just stop playing because I've lost all momentum with my progression.

I think this game is meant to be more of a dungeon crawler than a story-driven game? I unfortunately didn't quite make it far enough in the game to determine if that's the case because I wasn't hooked by the narrative that was presented, and I got tired of dying and having to repeat my actions over and over again. I think with a few of the minor changes that have been mentioned throughout these comments, you'll be able to present a much stronger project overall and it will appeal to a far wider audience.

Interesting game. Here's my playthrough.

Hey ! Looks like I overrated my english skills, I did use a translator(deepl) though when I wasn't sure of my grammar but I should check more often now. For the "Hie" word, I used an old english translator for "Go". Concerning the last boss, me and my bug tester were able to defeat him, sometimes after one retry. I think you should retry, it runs out of MP 3 or 4 turns after using its spells. If you still can't beat it, I'll consider re balancing it. Anyway thank you for playing and like we say in french "Merci"! :)

The summoning mechanic and the UI were all very interesting! Since the protagonist doesn't have any fancy magic to rely on, you instead have to pull out your summons and carefully balance between guarding and attacking, and using your summons to lend you a hand and do a lot of the legwork.
I'm not sure whether it was just a me issue while playing the game, though, but I had a bit of a hard time once I reached the bats. The bats hit incredibly hard, and their confusion keeps your summon from attacking outright. Given your summon is your key healer, this means that I often found that my summon would get stunned, then promptly wiped, leaving the MC alone and vulnerable. While I know it's possible to avoid the enemies as well, I had a hard time with dodging the enemies, as I couldn't move fast enough to escape them.

Of course, like I said, it could have just been an issue with my playstyle, but I thought it was worth sharing just in case you wanted to adjust things in the future. It was an interesting game regardless, though, and I like how it's an unconventional take on the "use monsters to fight for you" genre of games. Good work!

Hi, thank you for playing and leaving a comment! Concerning  the bats, Have you tried checking the options for run/walk ? Because I could escape them on the map when I tested. They weren't too hard to defeat when I tested too, although I died one time and that was because I was not healing enough. But sure, I will try to better balance them in a future update. Anyway, I'm glad people enjoy playing my game, that makes me really happy! Thank you again!
