Here are 2 other game engines that are easy for newbies and young kids:
Scratch is the best educational game engine for newbies learning how to code.
Flickgame is the simplest game engine ever. Very good for young kids. It runs in the browser and exports the game to HTML5 (which also runs in the browser). All you do is create 16 images and link them by clicking on a certain colour. (Example: I made Dwarven Fort with Flickgame)
