Interesting visual style and i like dialogues, but speed of player is little to fast
Nice concept for a game.
Maybe needs some extra love for the control and guide the player a bit more.
Died a lot trying to fight the first obstacle despite dashing away.
Maybe some updates will help it in the future, but still well done for finishing a game for our jam!
Keep it going!
the game is good
the trick with zero UI is, there has to be a way to inform the player how to beat the enemy. It's frustrating to keep trying different keys or mouse clicks without any apparent effect. i understand that you want to stick to the theme though. and i respect that. it's a huge challenge. i think i've only found one game among the submissions I've played that literally uses NO UI. mine uses UI for sure - i simply couldn't figure out to avoid it for the type of game I wanted to make.
The do not fit this jam and can not get pass the mother
I like the arcade vibe this game gives off. The story lacks a bit of substance in my opinion. The different movement options are big part of what makes the combat interesting to me. Enemies are fast, but you can move and jump around the place just as fast. I think that works well for the intensity of the gameplay
I can see the light and darkness having to do with the whole mental darkness and mental light, but it could maybe have been more explicitly present? I liked the dash ability and the fights, the enemies caught me off guard a couple of times!
The whole brain Philosophy thing is intresting, No UI isnt a thing tho, I'm also not sure where Light and Darkness falls, for what it is tho i think its cute i like the simple visuals to it the flowing water is a very nice touch, The enemy has a bit of a lingering hitbox bug or something I died almost a full second after he did lol.
Same
i agree that true "zero UI" is almost impossible to achieve (given how I define UI). Maybe my idea of UI is wrong, but I see it as literally 'the way the game informs the player how to play". pure experimentation is the only way to achieve zero UI, and I've only seen one submission that manages to do it successfully.
