Feel free to ask questions about the jam here..!

Can contestants chose which kind of gift cards they want, and are they area specifc?

Host

No, only Amazon Gift Cards are available. If your country does not have an Amazon nearby you get US gift cards. If your country does have you get the dollar amount in your local currency as gift card for Amazon.

Can participants win multiple prizes?

Host

Yes, they can win multiple categories or win both public and jury prizes.

Hi, I wanted to clarify the rules on AI-assisted coding. It says AI can assist, but most of the code must be my own.

I primarily use AI to generate code since that鈥檚 how I learned game development. However, I still handle game design, debugging, structuring, and refining the final product. For example, in one of my games, I needed a way to create level layouts without a game engine, so I developed a system using ASCII maps and a custom tile map editor, which AI helped generate, but I structured and refined.

Would this affect my eligibility for prizes? I just want to make sure my approach aligns with the jam鈥檚 rules.

Thanks for your time.

Hi! Yes, your approach is within the guidelines. AI assistance is allowed, but the majority of the work should still be your own. Since you鈥檙e actively structuring, debugging, and refining the code, you鈥檙e in line with the rules. Just make sure AI remains a tool in your process rather than the main source of your work, Good luck with your game! 馃槉

Hi, I want to participate in the jam with my friends.

Do we have to create a new account for the team for publishing the game? What do you recommend to do in these cases?

Thanks!

Host(+1)

Hi!

You don鈥檛 need to create a new special account for your team. You can submit the game from one person's account and list your teammates in the game鈥檚 description or credits and as contributors on the itch.io game project page.

This is how you add team members as contributors:

  • Go to the edit page of your game. Then click on "More" and then "Admins".
  • There you can add more people to your game as contributors.
  • Teammates will be able to comment the games if they joined the jam and are added to the admins page (so they need to join too)
  • Only the submitter of the game can vote in our jams. Team members/contributors can comment but not vote.

PS: If you really want, you can make a special new account of course, but it is not necessary or needed.

i am currently a starter i can only write playermovement by hand on other like UI and animation i understand how its work only i can't do hand on immediately but i want to finish a game.even if like this condition can i join this jam.

Our game jam is for all skill levels. Jams are also a good place and starting point to learn new stuff/code/design etc. So yes, all skill levels can join our jam to create, learn and enjoy themselves.

Hi, do you need to have Discord in order to participate?

Host

No, you can also participate without Discord. That is no problem.

One more question - I am working on a team of 2 people, if were to win any prizes,  would we be able to split the gift card equally?

Host

Yes, you can decide how you want the gift cards to be split and which value.
