Needed the install instructions to play but succeeded :-)
Had a smile on my face while playing. Of course this demo needs some more polish but a good base for updates in the future. Walkthrough was handy addition indeed. Cute art style.
Nice solid start and base for a game with much fun in the future :-)!
This is a super solid start to what you can tell is a light-hearted game with a great sense of humor! All of the jokes about liver damage and excessive potion drinking for a potion professor/aficionado were really clever and had me giggling. Fully acknowledging this is effectively a demo, my one critique would be that the spaces felt really large! Not necessarily because it's incomplete, but because the buildings were pretty huge and there was excessive space around them. Even if the inside of the building is spacious, the outside doesn't have to reflect that one-to-one, I'm thinking like structures in Stardew Valley, you know? (Idk that's one of my only points of reference lmaooo)
Lastly, the art was so charming– I would HAPPILY play a whole game in this style. Thank you for making this!!! <3<3<3
The liver stat was a fun idea, and I do agree about the spaces too! I am hoping to get a full game in the future once I'm back to having a bit of free time :3
You're correct. Avoiding big square rooms is advice I've heard from experienced RPG Maker game devs.
Nice start for the game and thank you for adding the walkthrough. Helped me find a lot more things. I like the additional skill of throwing the poorly made student potions at the enemies, though the shirt that gives this skill should definitely be easier to find (like in a visible dresser), and considering how few skills dad has, you really shouldn't be able to leave the house without it. Also, don't know if you already know this, but there's a check box in events called "Direction Fox" that makes events stay in place when interacted with. (i.e. signs won't change into a different item when interacted with). And no, it's not like I forget that all the time myself XD
P.S. It looks like you added some neat character graphics that aren't in the default package. Did you make them yourself? I've yet to figure out how to export an XP game and include added graphics beyond the default graphics.
ohh i was fighting for my LIFE with figuring out the sign, thank you so much! I worked with my roommate to make the graphics, im not entirely sure how the spell became bound to the shirt, because that is supposed to be something you unlock from leveling up? i will definitely make note of this for future updates when the jams over. thank you so much!
You're welcome.
Am I doing something wrong or the game cannot be open? Some file cannot be found at startup. Please tell me what needs to be done to fix the problem. It will be great to play your game
Is it something called a "run time package"/RTP some older versions of RPG Maker need you to download it from the RPG Maker website. If you do need a run time package, this game would need XP. (Have no idea if this is your problem, because I got XP a while back and have the RTP.)
Thanks for info. I'll try to dowload it. Error looks like "RGSS-RTP Standard not found.":
P.s.: It helped!
Great. I know I had to put instructions on my game page for that when I uploaded an XP game a while back. It's an unfortunate hassle of older versions of RPGM.
I was able to play, hooray! Well, I liked the way the game is drawn. The characters look good. There is something attractive about them.
I have some remarks. I was a little confused at the beginning of the game. We wake up in bed and the game does not explain to us at least approximately who we are and why we are here. It may be worth considering how this can be changed. In addition, it is probably possible to somehow make the paverapes a more significant part of the game, it would be great.
It's great that you also wrote the walkthrough and posted it. It helped me in some places.
:O
I'm not the dev. Just a fellow jammer passing through who happened to be familiar with XP. Hope the actual dev (DexPalBuddu) sees your nice feedback :)
oh gush so humiliating :D
I really thought that you're the dev until now. Thanks for help then!
Your welcome. Sorry for the confusion.
I do apologize about the lack of guidance, we meant to upload it with some more artistic cutscenes but time did not permit us
Hello! There is an RTP included in the download list! Sorry about the trouble
