Nice 3D platformer! The boss fight was a nice finale and I am really grateful you let the player start at their last checkpoint after losing. I think having the player move along with the clouds would be better since that last section was where I struggled most. Great work!
I'm gald you enjoyed it, I only added the checkpoints after I got annoyed when testing lol.
A neat, simple and fun 3D platformer - good job so far! :)
As BenFontaine & WigHz already mentioned, the contrast is quite low on my side too. Some more colorful environment would give the game some smoother and more polished touch. IMHO the coin pickup sound volume is also quite low, which confused me during the cloud sequence in the middle of the game (at least I wasn't sure if I collected a coin or not).
Overall, I had some fun while playing your game and was quite happy to see the boss :)
Thanks for your feedback, I will probably have to work on my lighting and enviroment skills, and I'm not sure why the coin was so quiet, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Long live the king!
Well done with this game, I had fun playing it. It was easy enough for me :)
Some more lighting and a default environment would have made the game look much better I think.
I got a bit annoyed with the music loop. It ended very abruptly with a clip. It had some interesting stuff going on in it though, and it was awesome with the boss music when I jumped up to the king.
Thanks! I did notice that when I played the web version it made the lighting and stuff mcuh dimmer, so I'm not sure why. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Fun nice platformer! Good job with handling the scope of a 3d project and finishing it! I have some tips for improvement. Slimes and Shrooms you might use the “Shade Smooth” in Blender. Adding a water shader. There is a basic one on godot shaders. Adding a procedual sky to the environment node and adjust the colors of it.
For the gameplay the only issue I had is that I have to move on the clouds. (I would expect them transporting me)
Hope that helps and good job again, was a nice entry!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm actually working on trying to fix the cloud movement but everything else I might do after the Jam.
Apart from the soundtrack before the boss battle the game is quite fun. Maybe it is due to my screen but the contrast made some of the signs very hard to read, great job overall though!
Yeah the I did notice the signs were being wierd when I played in browser, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Really nice submission! It always feels good to jump on enemies, and I think you did a great job with this classical genre. Also, I appreciated that the sections of the path have a clear level design: it's easy to understand what the player is supposed to do and how, and that avoids moments of frustration.
The only part where this is missing is on the five sequential clouds (where I remained stuck...). It's clear what to do, but not how to do it, because the movement of the clouds cannot be traced from the player perspective. This means that, by adding just a few reference elements in the air path, things should become easier and your strong mechanics could emerge as deserved :)
Besides that, congratulations for your great job! Considering it's your first AND it's in 3D AND it's really enjoyable, you should be proud :D
Thanks for the feedback! The cloud area is definately the one I stuggled with the most, but I'll definately try to add in some sort of visible path for the clouds after the Jam.
Congrats on your first entry! Was really cool! I liked the sound effects when jumping on the mushrooms. I couldn't get past the major cloud section. It was challenging to keep track of where the cloud was going to go and what the next cloud I needed to jump on was.
Thank you! I did have some diffulculty creating the cloud platforms, maybe afterward I'll try to add some sort of trail you can see them following.
