The jetpack serves to both modulate the player's temperature and allows them to hop from glacier to glacier. The temperature gauge serves as the health bar.

I like the concept, but it has some balance issues currently. The jetpack adds far too much heat, which means you can't always get the air you need to get to the next platform without burning yourself alive. Also, I think the jetpack might work better if you could hold down the button to accelerate upwards, rather than a single burst, because that would allow for a little more control and finesse. Lastly, I think it could use more land, and not just the tiny platforms the snowmen sit on (those are way to small for me to land on!), because as it is, you hardly ever get a chance to cool down.
Keep at it! You're going in the right direction.
Very addictive game!. Great work!
Love this game! I ended up having to download it on another (windows) comp, but that's okay because it was worth it. It says it's just for some "jam" thing, which I don't quite get but I'm assuming it's a contest? Either way, could have fooled me! Very professional feel, love the little snowmen. Keep it up, Ian, Raymond, Alex, and Chris!
The game itself is a delight -- imagining the Snow Goons from Calvin and Hobbes taking aim at our intrepid jetpacker adds to the fun. Their taunt in the 'game over screen' alongside the soft ambient music allow for multiple reasons to want to play again. It's intuitive, fun, and a 'cool' time.
I was thinking the same thing - Calvin and Hobbes snowmen finally getting revenge.
