The art style and story of this game is amazing, also the sound effects. I found it hard to play the rhythm game because of my skill issue I wished it could just be left and right arrows to control, I'm just not used to the down arrow.
I thought this game was conceptually intriguing and raised a lot of questions. Unfortunately, I had to scout the comments for access to the final entry, but there was definitely an interesting story here. I wish the rhythm game had a penalty sound or some other form of negative feedback. Good work!
Thanks! There are actually unique sound effects for getting hit or missing a target, but I admit they might be a bit too subtle and I probably should have added some sort of visual cue on top of that.
Quite a cool game! The story seems intriguing, although it wasn't fully fleshed out (but that's to be expected in a game jam).
I have two personal suggestions for the gameplay:
Nice game overall, well done!
Thanks for the feedback!
The lack of spam prevention was actually an intentional decision. You're supposed to hit the targets right as they reach the attack bar(the sound is different if you time it right) and getting the timing wrong gives fewer points depending on how far off you are. Spamming isn't really a viable strategy for getting a good score, but I probably could have done a better job of communicating that to the player.
The alternative control scheme is something I considered and would have put in the options menu if I'd added one. That not being in the game was just a scope thing.
Oh, my apologies then, I was wondering why I wasn't able to get the full score. :D Cool game nonetheless.
Love the artstyle!
I loved reading all the lore!
