First turn-based fighting game I have played in this jam so far. This was a cool game! I liked the hand drawn art. The sound effects and music fit the game really well too. I have a couple suggestions.

Although the game wasn't hard to grasp, sometimes a lack of a tutorial can scare other players from trying the game. Simple blurbs that pop up could guide the player and ease them into all the game mechanics.

There is a lot of dead space in the middle of the screen. I'd suggest making the sprites for the spiders and enemies bigger to cover that space up.

Otherwise, everyone did a great job! Well done :)

Such a unique idea and creative take on the theme! The shaders you wrote definitely add to the visuals for sure. Killing the space worms felt so satisfying, especially when there were a bunch of them grouped together. The controls were tricky at first, but the tutorial sandbox level made it easier. Nicely done!

Thank you for playing! For the locked pencil, if you are talking about the 3rd level, I recommend looking for other objects in the level to grab and place on it to move it. If you are talking about the other locked pencil, try grabbing and lifting the pencil that is pushing down on it. You can move objects that aren't locked by clicking and holding the right mouse button. I plan on making the mechanics for this game a lot more intuitive after the jam. Thank you for the feedback :)

The graphics and art for this game were amazing! I loved the distinct visual style for everything. I will say the first scene in the game made my system lag quite a bit. After that, everything ran decently. If I had to guess, it might have been the orange swirly background at the beginning of the game? I could be wrong. Otherwise, a creative and unique submission for sure. Well done :)

The art for the game is really cute! I liked the little guy at the bottom of the screen. Well done :)

This was super cool! You guys utilized the third dimension really well. Definitely one of the most creative theme integrated experiences I have played so far. You should absolutely be proud of what you guys have made in such a short amount of time. Always happy to hear about a first time Godot user. I hope you enjoyed working with it! It is a fantastic tool for game jams. I hope you guys continue to make games in the future. Great job :)

Thank you for playing! A self destruct button would be a great touch to improve the player experience. I will add it after the jam, for sure. Thank you for the feedback :)

Thank you for playing! I will definitely be adding a reset button to the game after the jam. Thank you for the feedback :)

Thank you for playing :)

This was a neat little puzzle experience! I liked being able to push the blocks where I needed them to be before rotating the level. It provided a good base for a puzzle game. Seeing the gears turn in the background was also a nice touch. I would say adding a few more sound effects would improve the experience a bit. Otherwise, a great submission! Nicely done :)

This was a great submission! I enjoyed the very serious exposition at the beginning. Definitely one of the better "spin the level" games I have seen in this jam. I was originally thinking it would be nice if the game paused while I used the zoom feature, but upon further reflection, that could potentially be exploited and make the game too easy. Great job!

This was a cool game! I liked the inclusion of gravity fields. They made the game a lot more complex and I had to think a little before spinning the map so I would avoid the spikes. I'd only suggest adding a few more sound effects to elevate the experience. A sliding and falling sound effect that increases in volume the faster you are moving would provide a good amount of player feedback, especially on the stretches where all you can see are straight walls and have no idea how fast you are moving until you hit the floor. Otherwise, a solid submission! Nicely done :)

I really like the look of this game! The 2D sprites on the 3D pillar with the smooth camera animations make it feel really great. I was a little confused at the start, but I found your comments on the itch page and had a good time after that. I would love to see this game updated I had a lot of fun with the concept. Nicely done!

That's so kind of you! Thanks for stopping by :)

Definitely one of the most creative ideas I've seen in the jam so far! I liked needing to grab the different whimsical detergents to their respective washing machine. The introduction was also hilarious and I loved the rat by the time I was done playing. I definitely found the platforming to be a little difficult but I got used to it as I did more of them. Nicely done!

I absolutely love how you control the hamsters in this game! It felt really consistent, smooth, and satisfying. My favorite hamster is definitely the orange one on the splash art for the game. His run cycle is so cute! Well done :)

This was a fun game! Aligning the fruits on the right colored circle was pretty satisfying. I will say I found it a little hard sometimes to differentiate between some of the colors. Like the lemon and banana colors looked the same to me for a minute. Also I wasn't sure whether the watermelon was meant for the green or red circle. Most likely a skill issue on my part :) Otherwise, a great submission! Good work!

Congratulations on your first game! The art and setting for the game were great. I love hearing about people making their first game using Godot. It is a fantastic tool for game development, especially game jams, and this is no exception. I hope you continue to make games in the future. Happy programming :)

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it :)

Thank you! I've still got a lot to learn about handling Godot's physics, but things can only get better from here :)

Appreciate you stopping by! Thanks for playing :)

Thank you for playing! The platforming physics can definitely be on the jankier side at times. I will likely over haul most of it because it could use some refinement. Thank you for the feedback!

Sound design is killer here! I could skip stones all day. I think there is beauty in simplicity and the graphics demonstrate that really well. Nicely done!

I liked it! Very serious. High stakes. I got quite invested in saving the world. I do think the fidget spinner should spin passively if the spins per second is greater than zero, and you're not clicking it. Other than that, good job :)

This was a clean and fun experience! The preview feature was a really satisfying mechanic to work with. I have a couple suggestions.

I would suggest showing where the spikes would show up when using the preview mechanic. Maybe use a purple square or something. I found that I would think a block would be safe only to jump into a spike. I could do the "math" in my head and track them before rotating, but I wasn't sure if that was intended.

I also found that on the transition between two levels I would exit on the right and emerge from the left. The problem with that is I am still holding the right movement key causing me to flip between the previous and next level, which was a little confusing. You could remove the collider after entering a level so that doesn't happen, unless back tracking is a planned feature in your game.

Otherwise, I really enjoyed this unique take on the theme! Nicely done!

This was a fun little experience. I wasn't able to get too far and I did wish there was audio, but it was pretty neat overall :)

Thank you for playing! Sounds like you were pretty good at the game. Near the end of the jam, I was worried players wouldn't get to experience the full thing due to some of the more difficult levels so the life system was a last minute addition. There are definitely ways I plan on making dying feel less trivial. I plan on only awarding the extra life if they collect it and complete the level without dying (kind of like the strawberries in Celeste, if you know). Thank you for the feedback! :)

Woah this was a really polished experience! I love the visuals, sound, and combat system. It was a little confusing at first, but I eventually knew what I was doing. I also really enjoyed the Juniper Dev cameo lol. Overall, a great submission. Well done!

Beyblades are a great application of the theme! I liked the enemy intelligence. It really felt like I was battling a real person sometimes. The only thing I'd say is maybe have the time left each Beyblade has to spin hovering over each Beyblade in the scene. I found it difficult to take my attention away from the center of the screen to look at how much time I or the enemy had while trying to stay alive. Otherwise, good job!

Great visuals! I found it difficult even on the easiest difficulty, just because sometimes I wouldn't know what exactly killed me. I definitely wish there was audio. Otherwise, this was a fun experience. Good job!

I love the little propeller hat! Or should I say, I love Sally :) A cute game with cute obstacles, but sound effects would definitely elevate the experience. Otherwise, great job!

I loved the splash art and sprites in game! It was a good idea to make the stands transparent when you are behind them. Most developers would forget to add that detail, especially in a game jam. Well done!

Cute game! Congratulations on making your first game and submitting it to your first game jam! A lot of firsts here. Godot is a fantastic tool for developing games, especially for game jams. I hope you stick with it and make more games. Well done! :)

The baby is by far my favorite part! Thank you for playing! Glad you had fun :)

Super fun and satisfying! I love these "number go up" type of games. It felt satisfying to earn a lot of money at once and adding stickers and relics to the mix made me really think about how I wanted to set my wheel up. Great submission! boomshakalaka!

This was a cute game! Loved the art for each mini game, especially the ones with the dog :) The first time I played the "feed your family" mini game, I was a little confused because I thought the broccoli hovering over a family member meant they already had food. It wasn't until the mini game introduced a second food item where I realized the icon meant they needed that food item to be fed. I'd suggest putting a thought bubble of some sort to put around the food icons to make it a bit more clear. Otherwise, great job!

This was fun! I loved the silly visuals for each mini game. The slot machine and life counter at the bottom look really nice as well. I was a little confused at times what to do in some of the mini games. I'd maybe suggest removing the timer before the start of each mini game and just have the player press a button to start the mini game. I think this would improve the experience because it would give the player time to read the instructions and controls for each mini game. However, doing so would remove the chaotic fast paced style of the game, which I'm sure was intended in the first place. Otherwise, a great submission! Nicely done!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked big baby Brent >:)

Thank you for playing! If you die and go back to the main menu, you can click the "level select" button and replay the level you died on with full health. You make a good point, though! I should have made the button available on the "game over" screen. I will keep that in mind :) Thanks again!

This was a hilarious take on the PvZ gameplay! I loved the look of all the sprites and what I am assuming are three different moms? lol. One thing I'd suggest is giving the moms a few passive sound effects when they are running down the lane. Like zombie groans, but something more... mom related. Super fun! Nice work!
