Beaten it a few times now, tried runs with each of the weapons and genuinely the game seems fairly well balanced (outside of the secret knife ability which 3-shots the tardigrades and has plenty of startup and endlag, but It's supposed to be a crutch anyway, perhaps a fun challenge run? I'm pretty sure I've found the best 2 weapons in the game, being the shotgun and the Katana, with some optimising I cleared it in less than 2 minutes which I can send to you should you wish, might be a world record, although definitely a beatable one, made some execution mistakes. Makes for a fun speed game and hearing "DEFEND THIS POSITION" a bunch of times got a good laugh.

Especially for a game made in 25 hours it's quite a neat product, I think there may have been a couple oversight, my first sub-3 minute katana-only run involved swimming around in the water which I later found out by reading the floor is supposed to be acid, but that's to be expected for a short dev time and doesn't dampen the experience at all, if anything it enhances the ludonarrative of the character going to whatever lengths to stop the tardigrades.

Good stuff!

Thankyou for the feedback! Appreciate your take on it, and well done on the speed run, I look forward to seeing if anyone beats it!

but honestly not bad for a game jam fps! I just kinda drew everything back as it attacked me and triggered that voice line a BUNCH kiting them.
Was a little startled when the game just closed itself after i killed all the water bears lol

hehe thankyou for your feedback! yeah will tweak the ending and sounds once the jam is over haha

Definitely a unique take! Human-sized tardigrades would definitely be a nightmare

I didn't play it for long (I died way too quickly), but I did like what I played. With some more polish on the controls and sound, I would have played to the end.

The way that the tardigrades scream was... an interesting choice 😅 They would also clip into the building to chase me - I think there should be a barrier of some kind to prevent them from doing that

Good submission, especially for only 48 hours! I've never really made a 3D game, but I imagine it's much more complicated than 2D.

This was a really unique idea. The use of the theme was really interesting, and definitely not something I would have thought of.

My two biggest issues were that the controls felt a little floaty (I didn't like how the character would keep moving after I stopped), and I wasn't a huge fan of the sound design (screams and weird laughter at one point).

Overall, great job. I'll never look at tardigrades the same way again.

thankyou for the feedback! yeah adding sounds at 1am before submission was not a great idea haha. Appreciate you taking the time to comment! Will tweak and improve once the jam is over :-)
