very great game pretty fun you even added a boss fight at the end (can you tell me how to beat it pls)

Developer

Thanks, you need to get behind the boss and hurt them by charging them from behind. You can get behind the boss by deflating until Balloona is smaller than the lowest spike on the bosses torso and just walk by them. Then inflate and charge into them which will hurt them.

Cute game. I beat it but the roof fell on me each time i beat the final boss. I was surprised by a boss too, overall very nice game.

Happy to hear you liked it, to avoid the ceiling falling you need to deflate really small at the end!

I can proudly say I saved Inflato Island! A great short experience, but also quite challenging. It took me a while to beat the first level.

A few things that came to my mind: I would appreciate a few checkpoints, especially when learning the game in the first level so I don't have to start from the beginning all the time. Also sometimes the hitboxes feel a little unforgiving when it comes to coming close to spikes. And I once encountered 3 enemies in a row, jumped over the first and deflated and killed the second one, but died anyway, because I hit the first one on top - I think. Not sure if that is intended, but it somehow didn't feel right in the moment. When it comes to the deflation mechanic, I don't know how it should behave, because when I deflate and don't press a direction key, I sometimes have forward momentum and sometimes I don't. When I do that momentum alone isn't enough to kill enemies or hurt the boss and I additionally have to press a forward button, which is the intended way I would guess. It feels weird if I can deflate through an enemy without anything happen to it.

You made great game with a really creative way to implement the scaling mechanic into a platformer :D I really had some fun trying to beat the boss. The deflating mechanic is very funny and fun to use

Thanks for the feedback, happy to hear you liked it.

I'll keep that in mind about the checkpoints, I figured it might be short enough to not need them but I suppose the spike obstacles can be a bit tricky. The hitboxes are the exact character/object sprites I could make them a bit smaller.

The rock enemies don't have code to be able to kill the player lol, I definitely not intended if they managed to kill you. The deflation momentum is based on the last direction you pressed if you pressed down it'll just release air upwards, and yeah the directional input is intended for hurting the boss. I suppose the case you can use the deflation momentum to go through them without damaging them is something I've overlooked sorry about that.

Loved it! The aesthetic, sound design,  music, and character design were great and the platforming was tight! I wanted more after the boss fight!

Love the feel of the game and unique take on scaling mechanics!

Impressive stuff. I like myself a good fast paced platformer. At first I was worried it would be hard to control but it ended up being super intuitive! I figured it out immediately!

I really liked the idea of the balloon inflating and deflating, it's a cool concept and matched the theme very well! It was a little bit confusing at first since I had to move a bit in order to see the controls, but once I got the hang of it the game was really enjoyable! I often noticed that you could get stuck in the walls but it didn't bother me much. It's amazing that you could think of this in the limited time pace!

Happy to hear you liked it. Thanks for the feedback, if I had a bit more time I would have put together a more dedicated tutorial and update the collisions to prevent moments where  you can get stuck.
