How does your game fit the theme?
With the popularity of PSX-style indie horror games on itch.io recently, I wanted to create a twist on it by putting players in the role of a towering monstrosity hunting down a human game speedrunner. The speedrunner I made still ended up scaring me though lol. Instead of having near perfect vision, players take the role of a monster with poor eyesight, but with the ability to see from the perspective of the speedrunner and use context clues and spatial audio to find him. Basically, it's a reverse survival horror game.

There's a Cthulhu-like horror to this -- you've managed to play a game where you play as the monster and it still manages to be scary. You have a mild drone and an unrelatable entity that you can never really get a clear good look at that's chasing down a human that's much like yourself. As a result, it feels like you're hunting yourself, like it's inevitable that death will catch you.

kinda like a Tarkovsky film but with a Juice WRLD soundtrack

Woah, I was struggling to put into words what I felt the game was like and you captured it perfectly. Tarkovsky x Juice WRLD is also literally the highest praise I could ask for and I will cherish this comment forever, thank you lol :)

I love this idea! The monster's raised point of view above the maze is really cool, and the spatial audio works great. I'd really enjoy playing a full version of this! It reminds me a lot of the Alien vs Predator singleplayer campaign where you get to play as the monster and hunt down the humans with advanced vision modes and unique movement mechanics.

This is a very neat little experience. I love the concept! Like another commenter said, some kind of visual indicator other than color would help to tell the player the general area of the speed runner without giving too much info. I absolutely love hearing the speed runner talking through the mic, with some more variety to the voice lines that would really bring him to life. Great job!

Lovely atmosphere, but I found the gimmick of looking through the speedrunner's view equally confusing as the monster's since everything is still mostly-the-same walls. Maybe a noticeably different pattern to the walls in addition to/instead of color, or a central landmark usable as an orientation tool.

Ahh that seems so obvious in hindsight I feel silly now lol. Thanks for playing!
